Mobile App Design
My Approach
In designing Rizk I adopted a user-centered design methodology tailored to Algerian daily life. The focus was to create a warm, intuitive mobile platform that empowers home cooks to showcase their meals and allows nearby users to discover and reserve fresh, homemade dishes. By prioritizing simplicity and mobile responsiveness, the app ensures a smooth and culturally relevant experience for both cooks and customers.
Vision and Innovation
Rizk aims to transform how Algerians access home-cooked meals by building a trusted bridge between neighborhood cooks and local food lovers. Our vision is to enable economic empowerment at the community level while promoting traditional cuisine through technology.
Identifying Unique Challenges
We identified that many home cooks lack digital visibility and tools to manage orders, while customers often rely on informal networks to find homemade food. Another key challenge was designing for users with limited tech familiarity while maintaining a modern and appealing interface.
Resolving Complex Problems
To tackle these challenges, Rizk provides cooks with a simple dashboard to publish dishes, manage availability, and communicate with clients. For users, the app includes smart filtering by location, meal type, and date. The system also ensures clarity with bilingual support and visual-first navigation.
User-Centric Design
The interface is built to feel natural and friendly, with large visuals of meals, human-centered language, and minimal steps from discovery to reservation. Features like WhatsApp integration, availability status, and customer reviews help build trust and convenience.
